What was I doing when I decided to do the MBA
After studying Electronic Engineering in Aberdeen, I was working in London as a Technical Consultant in a Telecommunications company.  In reviewing my work year and prospects for the future the reality struck that I either had to get a new job or obtain new skills.  The technical career path seemed limited and bumping into one of my engineering classmates who had just completed an MBA showed me the opportunities that were available following the completion of an MBA.

Why I chose Cranfield
My engineering classmate had been at Cranfield for the full time MBA and spoke very highly of it.  The reputation of Cranfield was very strong, 2nd only to London Business School.  Also the flexibility of the EMBA meant that I could still remain in full time employment as I undertook my studies.

What I got out of it
Apart from the friendships which endure today I was exposed to many new business areas that I had only previously had passing knowledge of.  Suddenly the opportunities that this brought due to my new understandings were vast.  I remained with the same company for the next 5 years and was involved in leading the biggest outsource deal of the company history before being posted to Australia to open a new International sales unit.
