Would I need to apply separately for a Fee-share scholarship or am I ‘automatically entered’ with my scholarship application?

You automatically get considered for the Fee Share by Cranfield as part of your application – if you are offered a place on the MBA programme.

What is the deadline to submit my application and will it affect my request for on-campus accommodation?

Cranfield processes applications for the year’s intake in September all the way through to July—but —if a candidate does not submit an application until early June, it could take up to 2 weeks to arrange a suitable interview date and then, if an offer is made, it could be at least another two weeks before Registry generates the offer letter.

Candidates cannot put in a request for accommodation until Registry processes the offer, which by then, will be late June/early July and thus it would be most unlikely they would secure on-campus housing by then as the Housing Office only guarantees to make an offer of accommodation for those who requested it by 1 June. Even at that point, although they guarantee to make an offer, it may not be the first or even second choice of accommodation requested by the candidate as offers are made on a first come, first served basis. Bottom line is—the later you get your place, the less likely you will get on-campus accommodation and thus may end living in one of the villages close by.

Can I provide only business references with my application? I have been working so long I no longer have any academic referees who are relevant. Will that have a negative impact?

Cranfield will accept two business references and this will not have a negative impact on your application. A number of candidates have problems obtaining an academic reference due to the time lapsed since they were at University.

What happens if you are offered a place by Cranfield, but do not win the scholarship?

You may be eligible for a Fee Share scholarship (basically a reduction on the full time course fees). These are awarded by Cranfield at their discretion to applicants who impress them during the interview process.

Otherwise, you may wish to take up the place at your own cost. We are happy to provide advice and support wherever we can.

You may also wish to reapply for the scholarship in the following year.
