2015 Alumni Update | Evening Receptions – February

Winner-and-finalists-2014-lowres

Dear All,

2015 is going to be a big year for all Cranfield Alumni in Australia.

First – please save the date – Monday 11 May 2015

The Award dinner for the Ninth Cranfield Australian Alumni Scholarship will be held at The Hotel Windsor in Melbourne on Monday 11 May.

This year, as well as our Patron John McFarlane travelling from the UK to present the Scholarship to the winner, we will have a major visit from Cranfield Faculty. The Vice Chancellor, Sir Peter Gregson and key faculty members will be in Australia and will be attending the Award dinner.

We will share details of the programme of events as soon as they are available. We encourage you to come to the dinner in Melbourne, it will be a great event.

February President’s Lunches and Alumni Receptions

CAASF President Stephen Williams will host the President’s Lunches and evening Alumni Receptions in Sydney on Monday 23 February at The Langham Hotel and in Melbourne on Tuesday 24 February at The Hotel Windsor.

The President’s Lunches aim to bring together Alumni, key media and business leaders to promote the Cranfield message and the unique nature of our Scholarship, now in its ninth year. (If you would like to attend a Lunch, please email me by return).

On the same day, we begin the  formal selection process for this year’s Scholarship with the administration of the Cranfield Admission Test (CAT) in the afternoon. The evening Reception for Alumni from all Schools gives prospective Scholarship candidates the opportunity to meet with Alumni and hear about life at Cranfield.

Please come – you can RSVP (by Wednesday 18 February) to the Sydney and Melbourne Alumni Receptions here.

We hope to hold events in other states depending on interest…

The Scholarship

Since 2007, 15 talented Australians have benefited from our activities and studied at Cranfield for their MBA. We look forward to seeing what talent this year’s process will discover.

2014 Scholar – Craig Kitto has been diligent in both studies and blogging. You can read about Craig’s experiences in his blog here.

Alumni Community

We continue to assist Cranfield as it reconnects with Alumni and increases its support for the Alumni community. Part of that process involves tracking down Alumni contact details and creating opportunities for Alumni to come together, exchange ideas, share knowledge, experience and have an enjoyable time.

How you can help:

1. Come to the events in February and May.

2. Find Alumni. Please connect to other Alumni on LinkedIn and to any/ all of the Board and refer us to Alumni that you are in contact with. We are keen to reconnect with Alumni from all Schools – more information is here.

3. Brand yourself as a Cranfield Alumnus. Join the official groups on LinkedIn to clearly identify yourself as a Cranfield Alumnus. These are the links to the Official School of Management Alumni and the Scholarship Supporters groups. For other Schools search for ‘Cranfield’ groups on LinkedIn.

4. Support us financially. We can now accept tax-deductible donations from UK-taxpayers via the UniversityAustralian donations can be made here.

5. Join the Foundation and/or nominate for the Board. We are always delighted to welcome new hands on deck.

I look forward to seeing you on Monday 23 February (Sydney) and Tuesday 24 February (Melbourne).
